Next City Commission Meeting is right around the corner, on September 10

There are many important items on the September 10 agenda, including a presentation on the quarterly progress of the city’s Strategic Plan 2018-2023 and Action Agenda.

Remembering September 11

This September marks the 18th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The City of Pompano Beach is honored to announce the dedication of its newest piece of public art, a memorial for the tragic events that took place on September 11th, 2001. The City’s Public Art Committee cordially invites you to the Dedication Ceremony, which will be held on Wednesday, September 11th at 5:00 p.m. at Founders Park, located at 201 NE 3rd Avenue. The dedication ceremony is free and open to the public. Read more about this art on the city’s Events page at http://pompanobeachfl.gov/events/display/.

Later that evening, the City of Pompano Beach Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department presents a night of remembrance, recognition and celebration. The Ceremony will take place at 7:00pm at the Cultural Center, and features guest speakers, musicians and a special performance by the Fort Lauderdale Symphonic Winds 65-piece band. Admission is free; however, space is limited.

G.O. Bond Project Progress

Many of the G.O. Bond projects are in various stages of planning. For the new Senior Citizens Center, a G.O. Bond project, the two public outreach meetings have been completed, with positive input and ideas from the community.

You can keep up with the progress on all the G.O. Bond projects on the city’s G.O. Pompano! page, at: http://pompanobeachfl.gov/index.php/pages/go_bond/go_bond.
