Recently, there have been a spate of public statements adding to the confusion about what, exactly, will happen when the Atlantic/Dixie Corridor project kicks off.
We are mostly pleased with the final modifications to the Atlantic and Dixie Corridor plan, which are projected to have a minimal impact on travel times and will provide the foundation for a downtown that will lead us into the future.
Citizens for a Better Pompano Beach (CBPB) has been a supporter of the idea of applying Complete Street concepts (which include making streets more pedestrian friendly) to redevelopment areas in the city as appropriate. Over time we have viewed the Atlantic Blvd/Dixie Hwy Streetscape Project (Atl/Dix Project) as a good application of these concepts.
We continue to monitor the status of various city plans and projects and are working hard to ensure that Pompano becomes an even better place to live, work and play, so you can rest assured that we remain interested and engaged in our city’s future.
We, the members of the Citizens for a Better Pompano Beach, are just that - a group of citizens that are interested in the city's future and want to see the city's renaissance continue. Let's vote for candidates who will keep it going!
Citizens for a Better Pompano Beach has endorsed District 3 Commissioner Rex Hardin for Pompano Beach Mayor in the upcoming November 6, 2018, election.
"Hardin Best Choice to Lead Pompano," according to Jeff Levine, Editor-at-Large of Pompano! magazine
